| Summary, etc. | After the four plans dedicated to the national autism strategy since 2005, on 14 November 2023, France adopted a fifth plan entitled National strategy for neurodevelopmental disorders: autism, Dys or TSLA (Specific Language and Learning Disorders), ADHD (Attention Deficit Disorder with or without Hyperactivity), IDD (Intellectual Development Disorder). While autism is part of the Neurodevelopmental Disorders (NDD), for the associations of parents of autistic children, who have spearheaded the fight for recognition of the specific nature of autism, this change of name raises questions. Is it a break or a consecration? Is it a break with the past and a disappointment to see autism disappear from the main focus of the strategy and relegated to the rank of one of the forms of NDD, or is it a consecration to see the benefits of their past actions benefit all people suffering from NDD? |

| Summary, etc. | Après les quatre plans dédiés, depuis 2005, à la stratégie nationale pour l’autisme, la France a récemment adopté, le 14 novembre 2023, un cinquième plan intitulé Stratégie nationale pour les troubles du neurodéveloppement : autisme, dys ou TSLA (Troubles spécifiques du langage et des apprentissages), TDAH (Trouble déficit de l’attention avec ou sans hyperactivité, TDI (Trouble du développement intellectuel). Si l’autisme fait partie des Troubles du neurodéveloppement (TND), pour les associations de parents d’enfants autistes qui ont été le fer de lance du combat pour la reconnaissance de la spécificité de l’autisme, ce changement d’appellation interpelle. Est-ce une rupture ou une consécration ? Rupture et déception de voir l’autisme disparaître de l’objet principal de la stratégie et relégué au rang de l’une des formes des TND ou consécration de voir le bénéfice de leurs actions passées profiter à toutes les personnes qui présentent un TND ? |
