| Summary, etc. | The legend of the Canon of Cambremer is undoubtedly one of the best known in Normandy. However, its form is not very similar to that of authentically popular legends, which are much shorter and not as loaded with historical elements, and above all, there are several eighteenth-century manuscripts that show that it is a literary creation from Bayeux. The aim of this article is to try to understand the reasons for the creation of such a text, and to produce a critical edition. |

| Summary, etc. | La légende du chanoine de Cambremer est sans doute une des plus connues de Normandie. Elle se présente cependant sous une forme peu semblable à celle des légendes authentiquement populaires, qui sont bien plus courtes et moins chargées d’éléments historiques, et surtout, il en existe plusieurs manuscrits du xviii e siècle qui montrent que l’on a avant tout affaire à une création littéraire bayeusaine. Le présent article se propose d’essayer de comprendre les raisons de la création d’un tel texte, et d’en faire l'édition critique. |
