| Summary, etc. | Vase supports, generally found in small numbers, rarely benefit from a synthetic presentation on a regional scale. An inventory of ancient vase supports shows eighty-one examples in western Normandy. These are local productions that are fairly widespread within this territory and show a strong correlation between natural resources and production. Although the supporting function of the Norman examples seems to have been confirmed, their precise use according to the nature of the associated vase remains to be determined. |
