| Summary, etc. | La problématique de la mesure des croyances paranormales répond à l’absence de consensus autour de leur définition, particulièrement en langue française où, peu d’échelles sont validées. L’objectif de cette recherche est la validation de la version française du Survey of Scientifically Unaccepted Beliefs (SSUB ; Irwin & Marks, 2013). Nous avons examiné sa validité prédictive à travers ses liens avec le besoin de cognition, le besoin d’évaluation et le besoin de clôture. Deux études complémentaires (N1= 361, N2= 248) ont confirmé la structure en deux sous-échelles (croyances new-age et croyances religieuses traditionnelles) qui présente des caractéristiques psychométriques satisfaisantes. Un besoin de cognition élevé est associé à un faible niveau de croyances. Cependant, aucun des deux autres besoins n’a prédit les croyances paranormales. La version française de la SSUB peut donc être considérée comme un outil valide afin d’explorer les différences individuelles liées aux croyances paranormales. |
