520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | It is a classic argument that the driving forces behind the development of a Nordic community after World War II differed markedly from the driving forces behind the development of the European Community. As for the Nordic community, it is believed to be a result of so-called bottom-up integration, while the European Community is seen as based on top-down integration. By this is meant that a Nordic community is perceived to have developed mainly as a result of similar identities in the Nordic countries stimulated by the civil societies. This article reinterprets previous research perceptions and argues that although a Nordic community did not develop supranational institutions like the EC/EU after World War II, the driving forces behind the development of the two communities were actually more similar than different. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
