Summary, etc. Reinhold, the great enthusiast of Kant's philosophy which he tried to systematize, left Iena for Kiel in 1794 at the top of his glory. Less than three years later, in February 1797, he astounded everyone in the intellectual world by publicly declaring himself a disciple of Fichte- Fichte, the young Professor who replaced him in his former chair at Iena. This paper is an effort at determining the reasons that brought about this conversion.
