520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Between the Peace of Westphalia and the Congress of Vienna parts of the Old German Empire were ruled in personal union with the Swedish monarchy. Although a major portion of the Swedish trans-Baltic provinces were lost after the Great Nordic War, a tiny territory on the sea shore, Swedish-Pomerania with the port town Stralsund and the university town of Greifswald, remained a Swedish possession until 1815. This article looks into the extent to which the cultural position of this province led to encounters and identifications during the age of Enlightenment and early Romanticism up to the violent events of the Napoleonic wars. Was there a concept of Swedishness shared across linguistic and cultural borders? What are features making up transnationally mixed areas ? Who were the agents of cultural exchange and transfer?
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc.
