Facing tough competition, henceforth arbitrated by the League of Nations, France reinvested in cultural spaces on both a national and international level. André Parrot, a French archaeologist based in Mari (Syria) in 1933, observed disruptions during this period, offering an insight into the various challenges involved in practicing his profession. |
