520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. "Studies on psychological trauma have identified the importance of early medical and psychological intervention to prevent the onset of post-traumatic stress disorder. Although the treatment of adults is now well established, the treatment of children immediately following the event remains haphazard. The child who is exposed to a traumatic event is very often treated in the same way as adults when a specific, dedicated intervention is required. We discuss in detail the care of children in extreme emergency situations based on our experience as specialized emergency psychotherapists in this field. We first highlight the impact of a traumatic event for the psyche; then we address the immediate potential care for children."
