Summary, etc. Philippe Artières is a French historian, director of research at the French National Center for Scientific Research in the Interdisciplinary Institute for the Anthropology of Contemporary Societies at the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences, and president of the Centre Michel Foucault. A specialist in the ordinary writings of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, his research focuses on the monitoring of writings in the public space. Its many implications for the fiftieth anniversary of the May 1968 events are a timely starting point for questioning the link between writing and event. The interview focuses on his research path, his interest in ephemeral writings (especially those that have been neglected, forgotten, or even rejected), as well as on the question of the social attention paid to these writings.
