| Summary, etc. | The Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 triggered one of the largest forced migratory movements since the Second World War. This contribution is based on two research projects that examine the characteristics of transgenerational family structures from a retrospective and prospective perspective. The aim is to identify family coping strategies in the face of experiences of loss and trauma following forced migration in the context of today’s wars and forced migrations. In this article, we focus on our second study: “Narratives fostering resilience”, which explores how mothers who fled Ukraine attribute meanings to their experiences of flight and share them with their child(ren). The two sub-projects examine generational family structures situated in completely different socio-historical contexts. Unlike forced migration in the context of the Second World War, people on the move today remain connected to each other through information and communication technologies (ICTs). ict is often an essential resource, creating globalized families (Borcsa, 2019, 2016). This contribution uses a case study of a Ukrainian mother and her daughter to illustrate the particular importance of ict in the context of war and forced migration. |

| Summary, etc. | L’invasion russe de l’Ukraine en février 2022 a déclenché l’un des plus grands mouvements migratoires forcés depuis la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Cette contribution est basée sur deux projets de recherche qui examinent dans une perspective rétrospective et prospective les caractéristiques des structures familiales transgénérationnelles. L’objectif est d’identifier les stratégies d’adaptation familiales face aux expériences de perte et de traumatisme suite à une migration forcée vécue dans le contexte des guerres et des migrations forcées d’aujourd’hui. Dans cet article, nous nous concentrons sur notre deuxième étude : « Récits favorisant la résilience », qui explore comment les mères ayant fui l’Ukraine attribuent des significations à leurs expériences de fuite et les partagent avec leur(s) enfant(s). Les deux sous-projets examinent des structures familiales générationnelles situées dans des contextes socio-historiques complètement différents. Contrairement à la migration forcée dans le contexte de la Seconde Guerre mondiale, les personnes en mouvement aujourd’hui restent connectées entre elles grâce aux technologies de communication et d’information (tic). Les tic sont souvent une ressource essentielle, créant des familles mondialisées (Borcsa, 2019, 2016). Cette contribution prend appui sur une étude de cas d’une mère ukrainienne et de sa fille pour illustrer l’importance particulière des tic dans le contexte de la guerre et de la migration forcée. |
