| Summary, etc. | RésuméCette étude examine le choix d’un mode d’entrée à l’étranger dans le cadre de la franchise internationale. Une revue des littératures sur la franchise internationale et sur les modes d’entrée met en lumière les déterminants organisationnels et environnementaux du choix dans un contexte général. Une enquête cyberDelphi réalisée auprès de 35 experts de la franchise internationale permet, tout d’abord, d’identifier les déterminants spécifiques du choix d’un mode d’entrée de la franchise internationale (franchise directe, investissement direct à l’étranger, accord de développement de zone, joint-venture et master franchise) et en propose une hiérarchisation. Les opinions des experts permettent également une clarification et une comparaison des différentes modalités de développement de la franchise internationale. Enfin, compte tenu du caractère prospectif de l’enquête, les possibilités d’évolution des différents modes d’entrée de la franchise internationale sont présentées. |

| Summary, etc. | In this study, international entry mode choice is examined in a franchise setting. As in the traditional entry mode and international franchising literatures, it is suggested that both organizational and environmental determinants influence choice of entry mode. The results of the Delphi panel composed of 35 international franchising experts allow the author to identify and rank determinants of international franchising entry modes (direct franchising, foreign direct investment, area development agreement, joint venture and master franchising). Expert opinion is also used to clarify and compare the various international franchising alternatives. Furthermore, valuable insight is given concerning the likely evolution of different franchising entry modes in the near future. |
