| Summary, etc. | This article explores how individuals use play to construct new identities while engaging in new entrepreneuring. This research is based on an ethnographic qualitative study conducted with 19 French video game commentators through semi-structured biographic interviews, video observations, and documentary collections. It is founded on the intersection of the concepts of entrepreneurship as play, identity work, and identity play, as a way to better understand authenticity and legitimacy tensions while entrepreneuring. Our results show that individuals undertake a dynamic process of identity play where they oscillate between authentic play and legitimate play. Untangling the tensions between these two types of play represents a key activity in moving forward on their entrepreneurial journey and into more stable identity work. Finally, we discuss the implications of our study for play and identity construction, focusing on the tensions and conflicts that arise between authentic play and legitimate play, the temporal dynamics of play, and the exploration of play within a workplace context, highlighting its potential to foster creativity, adaptability, and identity. |

| Summary, etc. | Cet article explore la manière dont les individus utilisent le jeu pour construire de nouvelles identités tout en s’engageant dans de nouvelles activités entrepreneuriales. Cette recherche s’appuie sur une étude qualitative ethnographique menée auprès de 19 commentateurs de jeux vidéo français par le biais d’entretiens biographiques semi-structurés, d’observations vidéo et d’une collecte documentaire ; ainsi que sur le croisement des concepts d’entrepreneuriat comme jeu, de travail identitaire et de jeu identitaire, permettant de mieux comprendre les tensions entre authenticité et légitimité dans la démarche entrepreneuriale. Nos résultats montrent que les individus entreprennent un processus dynamique de jeu identitaire qui les voit osciller entre le jeu authentique et le jeu légitime. Démêler les tensions entre ces deux types de jeux représente une activité clé pour avancer dans leur parcours entrepreneurial et dans un travail identitaire plus stable. Enfin, nous discutons des implications de notre étude pour le jeu et la construction de l’identité, en nous concentrant sur les tensions et les conflits concernant le jeu authentique et le jeu légitime, la dynamique temporelle du jeu et l’exploration du jeu dans un contexte professionnel, en soulignant son potentiel pour favoriser la créativité, l’adaptabilité et l’identité. |
