Summary, etc. This exploratory research on lockdown sheds light on the social representations conveyed about the latter and more precisely the structural elements of the representation. The three dimensions of representation—cognitive, conative, and affective—are studied. A collection of verbal associations with the word “lockdown” (in French: confinement) was presented to a group of first-year psychology students and a group of teachers. They were prompted to think of nouns, verbs, and adjectives to cover the three dimensions of representation. Analysis of the words suggested and their frequency of occurrence allowed us to identify the most salient elements of the social representation of lockdown and the differences between students and teachers. This study of social representations facilitates a better understanding of the ways in which the lockdown was experienced and makes it possible to formulate recommendations regarding the public and media discourse during this period.
