| Summary, etc. | In this article, after a brief biography of Afaf Ibrahim Meleis, we will describe the main elements of her transitions theory. After presenting its theoretical underpinnings, as well as its main concepts and postulates, we will discuss the theory’s aims and possible applications from both a pedagogical and a societal point of view. Using three examples of practical applications, we will argue how this theory is both a method and a process of reflection within and about nursing care. |
