Summary, etc. Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD) Day Care Center (DCC) is correlated to spectrum concept as it offers an overall treatment that includes parents in the care process. To better understand the therapeutic contribution of DCC, we carried out a qualitative study exploring the experience of parents of children with ASD who had been treated in DCC, using Phenomenological Interpretative Analysis. The results highlight four themes: From the violence of diagnosis to the gain of information to overcome ASD and psychiatric care stigma; From listening to reassurance to gain confidence and acquire skills to help accept the disability; From one separation to another, the long work around links; and The central role of DCC in coordinating care. When parents are faced with the disruption coming with the ASD diagnosis, they are particularly interested in objective and subjective information provided by peer groups. The central role of DCC in the care process means that we must consider the risk of generating too many expectations in parents, and of hindering the transition at the end of the treatment.
