| Summary, etc. | By criticizing the film Kaamelott: first part (2021), a medievalist specialized in contemporary reinventions of the Arthurian myth, Dr. Justine Breton, was targeted by intense waves of cyber-violence on social networks, largely driven by fans of the Kaamelott series. This article adresses how the rhetorical strategies of harassers overlap with and extend diegetic patterns developed throughout the series, and consequently argues that harassment fully participates in fan identity. Finally, the importance of the issue of “historical realism” will be studied, which appears to be the key in defending preconceptions about the medieval era. |
