520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Introduction: The opening of a new urban spa treatment resort in Nancy may impact the factors determining and intentions behind spa treatment prescriptions by general practitioners in the metropolitan area. Objective of the study: To identify the determinants and intentions of general practitioners in the Nancy metropolitan area when prescribing spa treatments. Methods: Prospective qualitative study conducted by focus groups with 10 general practitioners, with thematic analysis of verbatim transcripts using NVivo® software. Results: The physicians recognise the perceived benefits of spa treatments (mobility, well-being, reduced medication use) but highlight a lack of training and an outdated image of spa therapy. Prescriptions are most often initiated by the patient and focus on rheumatology. They are hindered by social, financial and organisational constraints. The opening of Nancy Thermal facilitates access to spa treatments. Prescriptions are most often initiated by the patient and focus on rheumatology. They are hampered by social, financial and organisational constraints. The opening of Nancy Thermal facilitates access to new patient profiles (working people, carers, low-income populations) and is generating renewed interest among practitioners. The lack of a break from everyday life is perceived as a limitation of local treatments. Conclusion: The development of local spa offers and the adaptation of treatments to current patient expectations is repositioning spa therapy as a complementary, integrative and preventive therapy. The need to train physicians in spa medicine is essential to optimise the quality of indications and prescriptions.
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc.
