Unexpectedly, it generated protests from the usually most discreet profession: the judicial police. Firstly, we analyze its professional culture and the many changes it has undergone over time, without any major protests. Secondly, we describe the mobilization against the reform that led to the creation of a dedicated association, on the assumption that its very existence bears witness to a profound transformation in the universe and population of “pejists”. |

| Summary, etc. | Cet article s’intéresse au processus conflictuel ayant conduit à la réforme de la structuration de la police nationale, dite de départementalisation de la police nationale, expérimentée dès l’automne 2019. De manière inattendue, cette réforme a généré des contestations de la part de la filière habituellement la plus discrète de l’institution : la police judiciaire. Dans un premier temps, nous analysons ses spécificités et les nombreuses inflexions qu’elle a connues à travers le temps, sans protestations majeures jusqu’ici. Dans un second temps, nous décrivons la mobilisation contre la réforme qui a abouti à la création d’une association (Association nationale de police judiciaire – ANPJ) dédiée, en faisant l’hypothèse que son existence même témoigne d’une profonde transformation tant de l’environnement que de la population des « péjistes ». |
