520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. From the macho to the metrosexual man, conjugating masculinity in the plural nowadays appears more appropriate to the multiple forms of its expression. For some, these multiple forms are the sign that today manhood is problematic. For others, they are signs of emancipation as men break free from past conventions. The discourse on multiple masculinities relates directly to issues of fatherhood’s place in contemporary society. The transformation of these discourses is discussed in relation to the socio-structural changes that have taken place in recent centuries in the West, namely the transition from a stratified society to a functionally differentiated society.
