520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Taking care of a very young abused child who is suffering psychologically and emotionally can be extremely stressful for the foster care institution team, putting it in jeopardy. This can lead to further abuse when the family relationship based on maltreatment contaminates the caregivers’relations with the child, as illustrated in the case of Vincent. In these high-risk situations, the seriousness of the psycho-pathological processes at work calls for psychiatric treatment of the child and parents as well as sustained assistance to the professionals involved.
