| Summary, etc. | Research on Intellectual Disability (ID) first focused on the cognitive limitations it generated, and then uncovered preserved skills. The current research focuses on identifying effective interventions to improve support for people with ID. As far as reading skills are concerned, there is considerable literature on the matter of deciphering, but little to none on that of comprehension. In this study, we analysed seven teaching materials on reading said to be accessible to pupils with developmental disabilities. All of them demonstrate that they take into account research data on the acquisition of reading skills and the specificities of ID. However, these materials are not sufficient for the full assimilation of reading skills, since the teaching of comprehension is neglected. |

| Summary, etc. | Les recherches menées sur les Troubles du développement intellectuel (TDI) ont d’abord porté sur les limitations cognitives engendrées (Borkowski et Cavanaugh, 1979) puis sur les compétences préservées (Aldama et al., 2016). Elles visent aujourd’hui à identifier les interventions efficaces pour mieux accompagner les personnes présentant un TDI (Des Portes et Héron, 2020). Dans le domaine du savoir lire, nombreuses sont les recherches sur le niveau de décodage, mais peu traitent de la compréhension de l’écrit. Nous avons analysé sept supports d’enseignement de la lecture dits accessibles aux élèves présentant des troubles du développement. Tous attestent une prise en compte des données émanant de la recherche quant à l’acquisition du savoir lire et aux spécificités du TDI. Ces supports ne semblent cependant pas suffisants pour une entière acquisition du savoir lire puisque l’enseignement de la compréhension de l’écrit est négligé. |
