Summary, etc. Today, the term “recognition” is as much an integral part of political debates as it is of philosophical and sociological theories. Indeed, social and political problems inevitably seem to be analyzed through the prism of recognition theories. Although approached in distinct contexts and beyond conceptual differences, this article aims to put Hannah Arendt’s concept of recognition into perspective with the main contemporary thinkers of the same concept. It aims to highlight theoretical convergences relating to recognition, with an emphasis on the dimension of identity and political action, opening up, in the end, to a reflection on citizen education today.

Summary, etc. Le terme de reconnaissance fait aujourd’hui partie intégrante autant des débats politiques que des théories philosophiques et sociologiques. En effet, les problèmes sociaux et politiques semblent immanquablement être analysés via le prisme des théories de la reconnaissance. Bien qu’abordé dans des contextes distincts et au-delà des différences conceptuelles, cet article ambitionne la mise en perspective de la reconnaissance, sousjacente chez Hannah Arendt, avec les principaux penseurs contemporains dudit concept. Il vise la mise en exergue des convergences théoriques relatives à la reconnaissance, avec un accent posé sur la dimension identitaire et l’action politique, ouvrant, in fine, vers une réflexion sur l’éducation citoyenne aujourd’hui.
