Drawing on neo-institutional theory, the study analyzes how entrepreneurs’ narratives align with the expectations of various impact investors. Based on a corpus of written pitches and semi-structured interviews, an automated textual analysis is conducted to identify the factors influencing investment decisions. The findings highlight the importance of reducing informational asymmetry between investors and entrepreneurs, particularly through the use of standardized international impact assessment criteria. The ultimate goal is to inform public policy to better support these start-ups driving systemic innovation, and to encourage investors to integrate social and environmental dimensions into their decision-making processes. |

L’étude, basée sur la théorie néo-institutionnelle, analyse comment les récits des entrepreneurs s’alignent aux attentes des différents investisseurs à impact. À partir d’un corpus de présentations écrites et d’entretiens semi-directifs, une analyse textuelle automatisée est menée pour identifier les facteurs influençant les décisions d’investissement. Les résultats soulignent l’importance de réduire l’asymétrie informationnelle entre investisseurs et entrepreneurs, notamment par des critères internationaux standardisés d’évaluation d’impact. L’objectif final est d’informer les politiques publiques pour mieux soutenir ces start-ups porteuses d’innovations systémiques, et d’encourager les investisseurs à intégrer les dimensions sociales et environnementales dans leurs processus de décision. |
