| Summary, etc. | The literature on embodied ethics in organizational theory has developed in response to the limitations identified in traditional approaches to business ethics, which are considered procedural and ignore the agentivity of actors. Breaking with a cognitivist paradigm, embodied ethics argues that bodily experience conditions the emergence of ethical judgement in organizations. Despite their contributions, however, these works contain certain paradoxes, particularly with regard to the status of the body and its physical limits within an organization. We propose to solve some of these conceptual difficulties by drawing on the relational ontology of the body developed by French philosopher Jean- Luc Nancy. We will argue that a radically embodied organizational ethic is possible, even if it undermines the representation and place usually assigned for the body in management. |

| Summary, etc. | La littérature sur l’éthique incarnée en théorie des organisations s’est développée en réponse aux limites identifiées dans les approches classiques de l’éthique des affaires, jugée procédurale et évacuant l’agentivité des acteurs. Rompant avec un paradigme cognitiviste, l’éthique incarnée argue en effet que l’expérience corporelle conditionne l’émergence du jugement éthique dans les organisations. En dépit de leurs contributions, ces travaux n’en comportent pas moins certains paradoxes, concernant en particulier le statut du corps et son étendue au sein d’une organisation. Nous proposons de résoudre certaines de ces difficultés conceptuelles en nous appuyant sur l’ontologie relationnelle du corps développée par le philosophe français Jean-Luc Nancy. Nous défendrons l’idée qu’une éthique organisationnelle radicalement incarnée est possible, subvertissant ainsi la représentation et la place habituellement réservées au corps en gestion. |
