| Summary, etc. | Following the Molotov-Ribbentrop agreements nearly 800,000 citizens from European countries annexed or dominated by the Soviet Union were deported to Central Asia, Siberia, the Urals and northern Russia. This article focuses on private photographs, taken and kept by them. What are the temporalities and reasons behind their creation? How to qualify the social functions related to the taking of these photographs? Articulating the social history of repressions in conjunction with a visual analysis allows us to understand photography as a collection of remnants that reveal relationships to images, the collective sphere, relegated communities and locals. |

| Summary, etc. | Près de 800 000 citoyens de pays annexés ou dominés par l’Union soviétique suite aux accords Molotov-Ribbentrop furent déportés en Asie centrale, en Sibérie, dans l’Oural et au nord de la Russie. Cet article se penche sur leurs photographies privées. Quelles sont les temporalités et les raisons de leur création ? Comment qualifier les fonctions sociales de la prise de vues dans ces conditions ? Une articulation de l’histoire sociale des répressions et de l’analyse visuelle permet d’appréhender la photo-graphie comme un ensemble de traces révélatrices des rapports à l’image, à la sphère collective, aux communautés en relégation et aux locaux. |
