| Summary, etc. | Teleworking, now firmly established in professional practices in France, meets growing expectations for flexibility and autonomy, particularly among executives (Apec, 2025). In this context, a new trend is emerging: “tracances” or “workations”, which combine remote work with leisure trips. This form of nomadic work illustrates a transformation in our relationship with time and space and is part of a broader trend toward organizational innovation. Teleworking, as a strategic lever for human resources, enhances the attractiveness of companies and requires new managerial practices. However, it raises major legal issues: working time, the right to disconnect, paid leave, workplace accidents, and tax and social security risks. Tracances, by blurring the boundaries between professional and personal life, amplify these risks. Tracances illustrate the tensions between the desire for flexibility and the need to protect the health and rights of employees. The article proposes regulatory options to frame these emerging practices: collective agreements, manager awareness, and technical tools. |
