Summary, etc. This article aims to analyse the criminalization process of the immigration in Europe, through the exam of the mass media discourses adopted in the 1990s in France, Germany, Italy and Greece. While describing how mass media construct the figure of the “foreign criminal,” it puts forward the hypothesis that this criminalization process, which relies on the superposition of the securitarian and cultural “migratory threats,” implies many serious dangers for host societies.
