| Summary, etc. | The depth of crisis in Guinea’s judicial institution reveals the stark inadequacies of all referent or judicial models of strictly Western inspiration. To overcome this crisis, the path of negotiated conflict regulation needs to be rediscovered rather than that of an institutional response seen by most as a poorly mastered westernization. This negotiated path has never ceased to provide the regulatory framework for Guinean society and remained legitimate and efficient despite the fact that its value has been denied. The majority believe that customary life works well within the contexts and stakes identified by the investigation and subsequently analysed further in this article. |
