Summary, etc. For a very long time, fascia was considered the poor relation of medicine, even though osteopathy—and later the Danis Bois Method (MDB) of fasciatherapy in France—have long emphasized the importance of this tissue for human health. Over the past 20 years, fundamental research on fascia has grown considerably, to the point that many conventional and complementary manual, movement-based, or instrument-assisted health care practices now rely on this tissue to support therapeutic models. However, fascia remains little known in France, and practices such as MDB fasciatherapy continue to be met with skepticism by medical authorities. It is in this context that FasciaFrance and CERAP-UFP organized the First International Fasciatherapy Congress in May 2025 in Vannes. This article reports on the papers presented at the congress from a multidisciplinary and integrative perspective, bringing together researchers from the life sciences, neurosciences, and humanities and social sciences, as well as professionals in the field, to address current issues affecting all complementary health care practices: the state of research on fascia, the research dynamics developed within MDB fasciatherapy, and the professionalization of this practice in the specific context of integrative health and complementary health care practices.
