| Summary, etc. | The Maroni River basin forms not only a porous border, but also and above all a living space populated by mobile inhabitants, who frequently cross from one side to the other. This article traces the evolution of this border since its creation in colonial times in 1662. It examines how the everydayday-to-day relationship to the river space has historically been constructed by exchanges between the two banks, despite and alongside the existence of the cartographic border of the metropolitan states. It explores the current life paths of Maroon inhabitants, analysing the disruption caused by the Surinamese civil war between 1986 and 1992. Today, cross-border lifestyles persist on the Maroni, in modes of transport, spoken language, and consumption practices. The article is based on historical and ethnographic data collected among Maroon inhabitants of Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni. |

| Summary, etc. | El estanque del Maroni constituye una frontera porosa, y también y sobre todo un espacio vital donde viven habitantes móviles, quien transitan frecuentemente desde una ribera hacia otra. Este artículo rastrea el desarrollo de esta frontera, desde su creación en la época colonial en 1662. El vínculo diario al espacio del río se construyó históricamente por los intercambios entre ambas riberas, a pesar de y con la existencia de la frontera cartográfica de las metrópolis. El artículo sigue con un análisis de las trayectorias de vida actuales de habitantes bushinengué a través del estudio de la perturbación causada por la guerra civil surinamesa entre 1986 y 1992. Hoy en día, se mantienen modos de vida transfronterizos en el Maroni, sean modos de transporte, formas de hablar o hábitos de consumo. Este texto se basa en datos históricos y etnográficos conseguidos con habitantes bushinengué viviendo en Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni. |

| Summary, etc. | Le bassin du Maroni constitue une frontière poreuse, mais aussi et surtout un espace de vie qui est peuplé par des habitant·es mobiles, qui circulent fréquemment d’une rive à l’autre. Cet article retrace les évolutions de cette frontière, depuis sa création à l’époque coloniale en 1662. Le rapport quotidien à l’espace du fleuve s’est construit historiquement par les échanges entre les deux rives, malgré et avec l’existence de la frontière cartographique des métropoles. L’article se poursuit par une analyse des parcours de vie actuels d’habitant·es bushinengué·es, en analysant le bouleversement causé par la guerre civile surinamaise entre 1986 et 1992. De nos jours, des modes de vie transfrontaliers se poursuivent sur le Maroni, qu’il s’agisse des modes de transports, des manières de parler ou encore des pratiques de consommation. Ce texte s’appuie sur des données historiques et ethnographiques recueillies auprès d’habitant·es bushinengué·es de Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni. |
