Summary, etc. ‪Although the issue of private education was relatively underexplored 25 years ago, except from the perspectives of educational policies and school disputes, more diverse and numerous studies have been published since: historical, political, sociological, anthropological, didactic, and pedagogical. On the other hand, monographs from established institutions are becoming increasingly rare, except in the field of higher education. This summary note is organised according to a thematic plan that examines the syntheses on establishments subsidised by public authorities (general, national, specific), without neglecting the current debates and the specific situations of the different types of establishment, regardless of their denominational or secular origin. So-called independent establishments are not neglected, nor are higher education establishments, nor is home education overlooked. An international perspective is proposed to better understand the characteristics of the different types of private education present on French territory, which, for the most part, scientific literature has attempted to explore.‪
