Summary, etc. Sociological literature emphasizes the importance of analyzing the relationships between different elite groups, while also highlighting the challenges of access and the limitations of ethnographic inquiries in these circles. In this regard, the analytical potential of publicly available video footage featuring elite actors remains largely underexplored. This article proposes a method for analyzing talk show appearances involving elite representatives, based on a joint interpretation of filmed interactions utilizing an informant familiar with the elite milieu under study. Identifying the constraints shaping the public discourse of elite actors –especially when referring to other members of the elite world– offers valuable insight into the intra-elite relational logics in which these actors are embedded. The method presented was developed within the framework of a doctoral research project on the relationship between economic and political elites in Russia during the 2010s and is illustrated with examples drawn from this study to demonstrate its practical application.
