Summary, etc. This article analyzes the increasing fragmentation of the body in two domains: aesthetics and maternity. In both, the new corporeal technologies are fomenting representations legitimized in the individual desire and in the firm belief of its realization. The procedures of this symbolic enchantment replace the real bodies by imaginary bodies, from where to center and redefine human rights. The increasing number of industries that operate magically introduce new forms of domination. To the effectiveness of these recent gender technologies is added the transition from care to self-care, to break the modern concept of citizenship. In this way, priorities are reconcentrated around bodies in ideologically opposed policies (right to beauty vs health, the right of the fetus vs. the mother, the right to paternity vs. surrogacy). Legal conflicts and resistance are outlined as relevant consequences of these reductions in body materiality.
