| Summary, etc. |
| 520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
| Summary, etc. | This article offers a global vision of Ricœur’s work, in which the author suggests the existence of a spiral development, insofar as in the most recent works we find a return to the same research on the will – within the context of a philosophical anthropology – that inspired the project of Ricœur’s youthful years. Spiral movement and not circular return to the origin, because the beginning and the end do not coincide but rather enrich one another, after a long detour of many decades through the universe of language. This detour – according to author's working hypothesis – has progressively developed through three paradigms: symbol, text and translation. In translation, what is at work is the familiar and the foreign, the self and the other, the other that we find in ourselves and that cannot be reduced to the otherness of the other man. In translation we find a plural concept of humanity, which is nevertheless one. The never complete work of translation suggests ultimately the idea of a hermeneutics of unachievement. |
