Cette attention à l’histoire intellectuelle en général caractérise bien ces deux pensées. En précisant l’usage que Bacon peut faire de l’histoire de la philosophie (pour connaître le pouvoir de connaître et pour saisir ses interactions avec l’histoire politique), on voit d’autant mieux la manière dont Hobbes recueille et prolonge de manière critique les pistes lancées par Bacon. |
