| Summary, etc. | L’analogie peinture/musique est toujours séduisante et s’alimente d’exemples nombreux dans l’histoire des arts du xxe siècle. Cet angle d’approche peut cependant gommer des spécificités artistiques en s’en tenant à une simple ressemblance. Nous examinons ici la portée du pictural dans le parcours du compositeur Morton Feldman, notamment à travers sa relation au travail de Mark Rothko. L’enjeu de ce texte est ainsi, par l’étude d’une relation exemplaire, de déterminer ce que peut signifier et comment peut s’organiser une correspondance entre les arts, dans un contexte où l’acte de composer change de sens. |

| Summary, etc. | The analogy between painting and music can be seductive. It is based on multiple examples in the history of twentieth-century arts. However, this viewpoint can erase artistic specificities, while only focusing on their mere likeness. This paper explores the impact of painting on composer Morton Feldman’s career, especially through his famous relationship with the works of Mark Rothko. The aim of this paper is to understand on what terms a correspondence between arts is meaningful, and its challenge for the evolution of musical composition. |
