| Summary, etc. | RésuméCet article se propose d’explorer les opérations de biologisation du recrutement policier en croisant trois régimes d’action convergents : les discriminations officielles et officieuses à l’égard des candidates, opérées par le ministère de l’Intérieur ; les coutumes professionnelles des policiers, qui tentent de fonder ‘en nature’ le quasi-monopole masculin de la police — sans toutefois parvenir à dissiper le trouble introduit par les femmes ; les représentations médiatiques qui ouvrent une brèche en mettant en scène des ‘battantes’, mais qui s’arrêtent au seuil de l’inversion du genre. |

| Summary, etc. | Political, professional and media anatomy of women in the police forceThis article proposes to explore the operations of biologization of police recruitment by comparing three convergent modes of action: the official and semi-official discriminations regarding candidates, operated by the interior ministry; the professional habits of police officers, who try to “naturally” dissolve the male quasi-monopoly of the police force — without however managing to dissipate the discomfort introduced by women, and media representations which open a breach by putting “fighters” centre stage but stop at the threshold of gender inversion. |
