Summary, etc. ‪Fans of the television series Gotham have often criticized its use of queerbaiting, by which homoerotic relationships are suggested in order to attract a queer audience. Yet lesbian and gay couples such as #Babitha and #Nygmobblepot are depicted quite differently in the show. Our analyses of the series’ official Twitter account, of a fan fiction corpus and of comments and reactions to both reveal a connection between the show’s producers and the public which invites us to redefine the notion of queerbaiting.‪
