| Summary, etc. | Après le passage en revue des caractéristiques générales de toute institution psychiatrique, l’auteure examine la façon dont celles-ci se cristallisent sous la forme d’un certain nombre de rituels, ainsi que leur fragilisation actuelle. Un exemple des rites d’une institution pour adolescents est donné, suivi de la narration d’un cas clinique. L’après-coup de ce cas permet de mettre en évidence l’effet thérapeutique à long terme des rites et des rituels qui font la vie quotidienne en institution, même lorsque les soins ont en partie échoué. La question des limites est discutée. |

| Summary, etc. | After a brief presentation of the general characteristics in all psychiatric institutions, the author examines the way in which they crystallize around a certain amount of rituals as well as their current fragility. An example of such rituals in an adolescent care giving institution is given, followed by the description of a clinical case. The aftermath of this situation helps enlighten the long-term therapeutic effect of rituals that are part of everyday life in an institution, even when the care partially failed to succeed. The presentation is then followed by the discussion of limits. |
