| Summary, etc. | RésuméAprès un bref rappel des concepts de fraternel et de fraternité et de leur place dans la psychanalyse au regard des liens familiaux et sociaux, nous analysons ces aspects dans l’œuvre littéraire de B.-M. Koltès. Par les questions qu’elle soulève, nous considérons cette œuvre comme un observatoire des liens humains et de leurs vicissitudes dans notre modernité. Plusieurs personnages de ses textes recherchent désespérément une relation de fraternité (entre individus, mais aussi entre races), dont nous allons étudier les modalités à l’aide de la théorie psychanalytique, comme un substitut des liens familiaux perçus comme ambigus voire destructeurs. Nous soulignons le caractère « postmoderne » de cette œuvre qui met l’accent sur les relations horizontales (entre frères et sœurs, entre égaux) par rapport aux relations verticales étudiées de façon privilégiée par Freud via la théorie du complexe oedipien. |

| Summary, etc. | After a brief look of the concepts of brotherhood and fraternity and their place in the psychoanalytical theory in regard to familial and social links, we analyze some aspects of the literary work of B-M. Koltès on this topic. This work can be considered as an observation post of the human links and their evolution in our modern times. Many caracters in his books desperately look for a fraternal relationship (both between individuals and races) as a surrogate of the familial links perceived as ambiguous or destructive. We understand some of their forms through the psychoanalytical theory. We underline Koltès’s “postmodernity” because of the emphasis it lays on the horizontal relationships (between brothers and sisters, or equals) in comparison with the vertical relationships which were mostly studied by Freud via the Oedipus complex. |
