| Summary, etc. | La notion d’écosystème recouvre de multiples dimensions, à la fois théoriques, pratiques et symboliques. Elle peut être rapprochée des notions de territoire, également riche et complexe, et d’habitat, plus ancienne mais non moins riche et sans doute plus englobante (tout être vivant « habite » quelque chose ou quelque part). Ces multiples dimensions et ces rapprochements s’imposent à toute réflexion éthique concernant les êtres vivants. Celle-ci ne peut être qu’anthropologique – plus précisément « anthropocentrée » et non bio ou écocentrée – et conduire à des mesures juridiques et politiques à mettre en œuvre par la communauté humaine dans son ensemble. |

| Summary, etc. | The concept of ecosystem is of multidimensional nature, at the same time theoretical, practical and symbolic. It may be related to the concept of territory, rich and complex as well, and to the concept of habitat, older but as rich and probably more comprehensive (all living beings inhabit something or somewhere). These multiple dimensions and relatedness must be taken into account in any ethical reflection about living beings. Such an ethical reflection can only be anthropological—that is “anthropocentered,” not bio- or eco-centered—and lead to legal and political measures to be implemented by the whole human community. |
