| Summary, etc. | RésuméCet article analyse trois groupes de sans-logis à partir d’études faites à Belo Horizonte (Brésil), en adoptant la méthode anthropologique de terrain. Face à la contrainte du manque d’habitation, des stratégies différenciées sont adoptées : certains s’emparent de l’espace public et y improvisent leurs habitations ; d’autres déambulent dans les rues et s’installent sur les trottoirs, sous des auvents, en y faisant leur gîte ; d’autres enfin s’organisent, envahissent un terrain et adoptent l’espace public comme lieu de lutte pour l’habitation. Au-delà des stratégies différenciées pour résoudre le problème du manque d’habitation, chaque groupe a ses propres modes et styles de vie : il s’approprie les espaces publics de la ville, s’y installe et en parle de façon spécifique. |

| Summary, etc. | This paper analyses three groups of homeless, after anthropological field work in Belo Horizonte (Brazil). Faced with the lack of a dwelling, different strategies are adopted: some make out of public space their own improvised dwelling; others wander the streets all day long and sleeping rough where they can; yet others organise the invasion of public spaces as a site for housing struggle. Beyond the different strategies for coping with the lack of housing, the everyday life of each homeless group reveals the existence of distinct ways and life styles: different forms of appropriation, settlement and connection within the public spaces of the city. |

| Summary, etc. | ResumenLas autoras analizan tres grupos a partir de encuestas realizadas a Belo Horizonte, adoptando el método antropológico de analisis de terreno. Frente a la penuria de vivienda se adoptan estrategias diferenciadas: algunos se amparan del espacio público improvisando alojamientos, otros deambulan por las calles y se instalan en las aceras, bajo toldos, otros invaden un terreno y lo adoptan como lugar de combate para conseguir un alojamiento. Por encima de estas estrategias cada grupo posee sus modos y estilos de vida propios: se apropian los espacios públicos y practican una manera de hablar específica. |
