Mais quel est le caractère « alternatif » de ces technologies ? Participent-elles de dynamiques socio-économiques originales par rapport à des technologies standards ou doit-on y voir un simple néologisme de sens : des solutions de remplacement pour les territoires non desservis par des technologies filaires ? À partir d’une étude empirique réalisée sur trois territoires, ce papier analyse une technologie à « l’usage », le dispositif couplant satellite et Wi-Fi. |

| Summary, etc. | The question of « alternative » technologies for high-speed internet access is at the heart of territorial development issues. But what is the « alternative » character of these technologies? Compared with standard technologies, are they driven by original socio-economic dynamics or are they only replacement solutions for territories not served by standard technologies? Based on an empirical study carried out on three territories, we analyse the system combining satellite technologies and Wi-Fi, a technology « in use » in its structuring dimensions. |

| Summary, etc. | ResumenLa cuestión de las tecnologías « alternativas » de acceso a internet de alta velocidad se encuentra en el centro de las problemáticas de ordenamiento del territorio, ¿pero cuál es el caracter « alternativo » de estas tecnologías ? ¿Ellas participan en dinámicas socio-económicas originales con respecto a las tecnologías standards? ¿O se trata de un simple neologismo de sentido: soluciones alternativas en los territorios que no son cubiertos por las tecnologías de cable? A partir de un estudio empírico realizado en tres zonas, este documento analiza una tecnología a través de su « uso »: el dispositivo que combina satelite y Wi-Fi. |
