| Summary, etc. | RésuméIl est rare de rencontrer une comptabilité couvrant plus de 10 années (1750-1761) pour une société « de bêtes à laine ». Celle de Guillaume de Nicolaï est tirée de son livre de raison, au milieu d’autres comptes d’affaires et d’informations sur la famille. Nicolaï était un érudit et riche noble de province qui avait ses entrées à la Cour. Ces comptes concernent l’hivernage et l’estivage de troupeaux considérables. Ils permettent de se faire une idée du rapport financier de cette activité d’élevage au cœur du xviiie siècle. |

| Summary, etc. | It is rare to find accounts covering more than ten years (1750-1761) of the activities of a « société de bêtes à laine » (woollen livestock association). The accounts of Guillaume de Nicolaï are drawn from his Day Book, which also contains other business accounts and informations about his family. Nicolaï was an educated and wealthy member of the provincial nobility, with access to the Court. These accounts are concerned with winter and summer pasturing of large flocks. They allow us to get an idea of the financial return of this aspect of stock-rearing activities in the middle of the 18th century. |
