520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. ‪We analyze the reception by young audiences of the dystopian films The Hunger Games, Divergent and The Maze Runner. These films feature strong female leads, which would suggest possible feminist appropriations. However, our results show that most interviewed individuals are not preoccupied with gender issues in these fictions. Yet audience gender, sex and age produce different readings of the films: young female adults tend to reject romance whereas we observe populist readings by male viewers.‪
