| Summary, etc. | Face à l’énorme popularité de la psychanalyse en Argentine, on peut se poser la question de savoir si la psychanalyse n’a pas occupé l’espace de la politique en raison d’une certaine carence de la loi. Il s’agirait alors d’une politique réduite à son aspect culturel. Elle a peut-être aussi remplacé la religion. Je commenterai deux films récents afin d’explorer les rapports complexes à la loi qu’entretient la culture argentine. La popularité de la psychanalyse serait-elle un symptôme du vide de la loi ?Films commentés : La Fuga (2001, Eduardo Mignogna) et El Secreto de sus Ojos (2009, Juan José Campanella). |

| Summary, etc. | Fearing neither God nor Man: psychoanalysis and cinema in ArgentinaGiven the huge popularity of psychoanalysis in Argentina, one can wonder whether it has not replaced politics. Could psychoanalysis have come to inhabit a site where politics is reduced to its cultural aspect? Or has it replaced religion? Rejecting these two theses, I argue that psychoanalysis is important because of its foundational link to the Law. To show this, I will discuss two recent Argentine films. They will allow me to explore the complex relations Argentine culture entertains with the Law. I will suggest that psychoanalysis is popular because it is a symptom of the void of the Law. The films analysed shall be: La Fuga (2001, Eduardo Mignona) and El Secreto de sus Ojos (2009, Juan Jose Campanella) |
