| Summary, etc. | Notre connaissance des Cyclades à l’époque archaïque a bénéficié des avancées notables de l’archéologie ces dernières décennies. Après un rapide bilan, l’article reprend la question de la céramique « mélienne », débattue depuis 1862, à la lumière de recherches récentes dans les Cyclades et à Thasos. L’atelier a été réinséré dans son contexte artisanal parien et dans celui, plus large, des productions cycladiques, à la fin du VIIIe s. et tout au long du VIIe s., une époque essentielle de l’histoire grecque, marquée par l’ouverture sur l’Orient, l’affirmation des cités et le développement corollaire de styles spécifiques témoignant de l’éclosion d’identités artistiques distinctes. |

After a brief review of the question the article addresses the problem of ’Melian’ pottery, debated since 1862, in the light of recent work in the Cyclades and Thasos. The atelier has taken its place in a Parian context, and in the wider context of the 8th and 7th centuries BC, a major period marked by Greek contact with the east and development of city states, and corresponding local styles with the emergence of artistic personalities. |
