| Summary, etc. | The Cyclops of Euripides on a mouldmade bowl from Porsuk. Un bol à reliefs d’époque hellénistique (seconde moitié du IIe siècle av. J.-C.) trouvé à Porsuk, en Cappadoce méridionale, représente Ulysse offrant une coupe de vin à Polyphème, entouré de satyres. Il s’agit de l’illustration d’un épisode du seul drame satyrique entièrement conservé, Le Cyclope d’Euripide. Fabriqué dans les ateliers d’Antioche-sur-l’Oronte, ce bol littéraire, exceptionnel à plus d’un titre, révèle les contacts existants entre la Syrie du Nord et le plateau anatolien. Il montre aussi la survivance du drame athénien d’époque classique dans l’Orient grec. |

| Summary, etc. | A Hellenistic mouldmade relief bowl from the second half of the 2th century BC found in Porsuk (Southern Cappadocia) represents Odysseus offering a cup of wine to Polyphemos, surrounded by satyrs. It illustrates an episode of the only complete surviving satyric drama, The Cyclops of Euripides. Manufactured in the workshops of Antioch-on-the-Orontes, this literary bowl is exceptional on more than one count, since it reveals contacts between Northern Syria and the Anatolian plateau. It also vouches for the survival of Classical Athenian drama in the Hellenized Eastern world. |
