| Summary, etc. | L’article présenté propose de prolonger les réflexions et connaissances déjà existantes à propos de la participation des parents et des enfants accueillis ou accompagnés en protection de l’enfance. Les constats issus de récents travaux de recherche ou de rapports publics relatifs à la protection de l’enfance continuent de souligner la faible participation des enfants aux décisions qui affectent leur vie. À partir d’une recherche doctorale en cours, les quelques réflexions qui suivent visent à montrer que la participation constitue un processus dynamique rarement accessible à travers les seuls outils formels instaurés par les récentes évolutions légales, comme le projet pour l’enfant. La participation se déploie dans une mise en scène complexe, celle inhérente aux « prestations » ou « mesures » dans lesquelles des interventions socio-éducatives se déploient. Par ailleurs, les jeux d’acteurs que la participation convoque méritent d’être éclairés afin que la participation ne demeure pas un support de la bureaucratie et du pouvoir. |

| Summary, etc. | This article proposes to extend the reflections and knowledge that already exist concerning the participation of parents and children in child protection. The findings of recent research studies and public reports on child protection continue to emphasize the low level of participation of children in decisions that affect their lives. Based on an ongoing doctoral research project, the following reflections aim to show that participation is a dynamic process that is rarely accessible through formal tools alone, such as the child’s project. Participation unfolds in a complex setting, that is inherent to the “services” or “measures” in which socio-educational interventions are deployed. Moreover, the interplay of actors that participation calls for deserves to be clarified so that participation does not remain a medium for bureaucracy and power. |
